2016 Fall Color Road Trip, New Hampshire, USA

New Hampshire

How to survive a month on the road: Limit color choices of clothes. Make sure everything can be worn together. Work out of only one suitcase. Split his/her clothes into both suitcases, one for city clothes (museum visiting, nice dinners) and one for country wear (hiking, sailing, roughing it in the woods). Unpack as little as possible, and limit all belongings (backpack, iPad, shoes, glasses, watch, etc.) to a small, separate space. Organizing of socks, shoes and products in zip cases or in baggies is key so that we can move from hotel to hotel quickly and efficiently.  We do laundry only once at the halfway point.  Grab and go!

The next few days we operated out of our country suitcase because we planned to do a lot of hiking.  We left the seacoast and headed to the mountains of New Hampshire.  We traveled through three spectacular areas – White Mountain State Park, Crawford Notch State Park and Franconia Notch State Park Flume Gorge.  This area has unique geological formations and scenic mountain passes, called “notches.”   Fall is in full glory.  Wish you were with us to gaze in wonder.

Was that ferocious bear wearing L.L. Bean? Run into any Bernie Sanders supporters? Ah – the photos are terrific – as usual. The woodpecker was caught “red beaked”. It also looks like the good weather returned for you. Keep having fun…….

I salute you for completing the flume trail. I sure couldn’t manage it. Have you driven the stretch of I-93 yet that is one lane each direction for some 20 miles? Definitely not in Kansas anymore:-)

Let’s just say that this old broad isn’t as spry as she usd to be. No, we did not take I-93. We took the more scenic drive, Route 7. Then we took the Taconic State Parkway south to I-84. FDR envisioned this beautiful highway.

I do remember this part of the country, and it’s so beautiful. Only the young complete the flume trail, so stay young.

    I like your packing/unpacking idea.

    Is the month up yet?

My heart and soul remembers all the wonderful colors of Fall. This area reminds me of what we called the Boston Hills in upstate New York, about an hour out of Buffalo. Have a wonderful rest of your trip, will see you when you get home. Safe Drive and Flight.

It couldn’t be more beautiful if you were on a movie set. Looks like you’re having a ball – but you two always do.

Wonderful photos. Best time of the year. Love your travel packing tips. I might add that I have found some great tops and pants at Chicos which can be washed in sink and dry overnight. Ditto with my icebreaker knickers.

Looking forward to a margarita Monday so we can share our stories.

Looks like the Trumpster keeps digging a bigger hole: the women were not attractive enough for him to pursue!!!
