    Jill & Pete,

Not a palette of places that I’d ever care to visit, but I hope you have a great time and look forward to your blogs!

Thailand, in particular, is someplace that I would NEVER want to go. It is famous for its sex industry, which is particularly oriented towards pedophiles, with the majority of its multitude of underage prostitutes having been sold to the trade by their parents. To me, visiting Thailand would like taking a tour of a sewer! I suppose it has its nice areas, too, but I’d pass.

At least, you’re on the way to seeing most of the world before you die! I never will.

This is our “Apocalypse Now” tour as we drift down the Mekong Delta retracing history and searching for Marlon Brando. Yes, Bangkok is known for its sex trade, but to write off the entire population as depraved is like saying that everyone in California is a movie star or a vegetarian or a porn star.

We are not staying long in Thailand (3 days); it is only a pit stop before flying home. We will keep you informed on the state of Sodom & Gomorrah. As always I wish you could experience first hand the world with us, but it is consoling for me to know that you will be our virtual traveling mate.

Now if only I could rid myself of this blasted bronchitis before the trip. Cough! Cough!

Burning the midnight oil again getting prepared. My stereotypes of Thailand are like Marshall’s (except he missed the fact the U. S. dumps a lot of toxic waste there – thanks to a corrupt Thai government taking payoffs to allow it). These perceptions are perhaps dated, but the country is undeniably beautiful and hospitable. Some friends of my spend 6 months in Thailand and 6 months at Joshua Tree – you know – young folks. They absolutely love Thailand. Finally – Thai cuisine is outstanding starting with Pad Thai, satay, etc. I hope Mr. Oliphant will follow your journey – it’s always much better than mundane T.V. travel shows! What the hell – going to a mixed bag like Thailand means you don’t have to witness the Trump Inauguration! If Thailand is like Mr. V’s prime rib – it will be sensory nirvana!
Can’t wait for photos – please rest up now Jill – honestly – put some stuff off and get some rest! Signed: The Uber Procrastinator

So glad you can try out AMA, and then give us your feedback. The only way I’d feel comfortable visiting those countries would be on a cruise or guided tour. I know you’ll soak it all in and return with tales to tell. Jill, do get an extra Z-pack to take along, drink plenty of liquids (you know what I mean) and rest whenever you can. Can’t wait to hear all about it!

When you go to Vietnam, you can get custom skirts for ~$20 USD each with a lining. The one I have are a perfect fit – I should have gotten more. Sometimes they can turn it around in a day.
