2016 Fall Color Road Trip

Fall Color Road Trip 2016

We are off on another adventure!  Our goal is to explore Quebec, the Maritime Provinces and several Northeastern States that neither Jill nor Pete have ever visited.  We hope to experience the onset of Autumn with all the fall color that this region is noted for. Our journey will be by car from Montreal to New York city.  The map below provides a preview of the areas we will be covering during the next three weeks.

If Mom isn’t a huge oyster fan after this trip, I’ll be speechless.

I have become a huge oyster fan. Thanks for the oyster list?

Some of our favorite Oyster micro-areas that seem to align with your trip. The rare time we have great oysters, we write down the growing village/area. This is me and Amy’s favorites from the area that seems to cover your trip:

    Bras D’or Lake, Nova Scotia
    Colville Bay, PEI
    Damariscotta River, ME
    Hog island, ME
    Montauk Pearl, Montauk, NY
    North Harbour, Nova Scotia
    Northern Silver, PEI
    Saint Simone, New Brunswick
    Tatamagouche, New Brunswick
    Wianno, PEI

So jealous! Have a beautiful trip, Jill and Pete. Have a lobster roll for me? Can’t wait to see your pictures and read your commentary.

The effort to avoid a worst case scenario with the car rental company is impressive! Walking on the boardwalk around the Chateau Frontenac will recall something similar to “The Great Gatsby”. I certainly hope you have an Indian Summer experience!

The car rental story gets even better. Rather than use a Taxi to cross the border into the USA between Montreal and Burlington, VT. Alamo reserved a one day one way car rental for $40 CDN (incl tax). This is even less than a taxi!
