2018 Baltics Cruise, Europe, Sweden

Stockholm, Sweden

Hello, Stockholm! We arrived a couple of days before the start of our Baltic Sea Cruise, and it took that long to adjust to the long days (sunset at 11 PM), short nights (sunrise at 3:30 AM) and record breaking heat (80’s).  In fact, the Scandinavians had the hottest May in history.  The down vests and new rain gear remained in our suitcases the entire trip. The fair-skinned Swedes were sizzling like bacon.

We explored as much as we could even though the heat and short nights zapped us of energy. Of special note were the Nobel Museum and the Vasa Museum, housing a gargantuan, top-heavy warship that sunk without even leaving the harbor. After we boarded our ship, we witnessed epic sunrises and sunsets because the sky was so unusually clear.
