This spring we decided to tour a portion of the country we had never visited outside of passing through one of its major airports. We flew to Memphis to start our 15 day road trip visiting three major cities known for producing some of America’s most popular music. In addition, we traveled portions of the Blues Trail (Hwy. 61) and visited historic sites in the South associated with the Civil War and the Civil Rights movement. During the trip, Pete was able to visit a scouting friend from San Pedro that he hadn’t seen since 1963. Our road trip concluded with our third visit to New Orleans. Click here for our Memphis post.
